Ecumenical is another word for Church unity – the efforts to promote cooperation and respect across all Christian churches and denominations. For more than 110 years, Protestant, Anglican, Evangelical, Orthodox and Catholic Churches have been working to find ways of unity of faith, prayer and work while maintaining denominational differences. Ecumenical activities and places foster a sense of shared identity and purpose often through dialogue, collaboration, and joint initiatives such as Cathedral Oaks Worship and Retreat Center. Being ecumenical reminds us that at Cathedral Oaks, we can celebrate what we have and believe in common, share prayer with and for each other, and make sacred places such as this open for the use of all Christian communities.
